Junior forward Liz Finley recaps the Bobcats' trip to Toledo & Northern Illinois this past weekend.
ATHENS, Ohio - Learn about what life is like on the road with the Ohio University women's soccer team by following their regular blog posts during away matches.
This week, the Bobcat regular season travel blog concludes courtesy of junior forward Liz Finley (Mason, Ohio). She recaps last weekend's trip to Toledo and Northern Illinois in this latest edition.
Traveling sure has its ups and downs. On our way to Toledo we had our fun watching Summer Heights High, which is a favorite amongst many on the team. We then stopped to eat huge amounts of bread and pasta! After our win Friday, we got the special surprise of getting guacamole and chips with our Chipotle...it's the little things! Then, after getting a few weird stares from people as we played Marco Polo during our pool recovery on Saturday, we headed to Illinois.
We got to Libertyville - home of [senior midfield/forward] Maggie Murnane - for some good home-cooked food. After lunch, the coaches surprised us with a trip to the outlets!! Not to brag but I got 40% off my Nike shoes. After some fun at the outlets, we headed to dinner, where [junior midfield] Annie [Beard] managed to hold a spoon on her nose for about a minute, and I freaked Whit [assistant coach Allison Whitworth] out when [redshirt junior goalkeeper] Rachel [Fryan] pretended to cut me with her knife, but it was just ketchup. The one bad thing after a loss on the road is one heck of a long bus ride back. On to the next...#twopercent
