Zambrana Named to All-Mideast Region First Team

Freshman Alexis Zambrana was named to the NFCA All-Mideast Region First Team.

Add another award to Ohio softball player Alexis Zambrana's already-growing list of accomplishments as the freshman was named to the All-Mideast Region First Team by the National Fast Pitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Thursday.

Season Comes to End with Extra-Inning Loss to Zips

Ohio softball's 2009 season came to a screeching end Friday afternoon at the Mid-American Conference Tournament, falling 2-1 to Akron in a close-fought, extra-inning affair at Firestone Stadium.

Ohio-Akron Contest Moved to 11 a.m. Start Friday

Ohio will now take on Akron at 11 a.m. Friday morning.

Ohio softball's contest with Akron has been moved to Friday at 11 a.m. due to rain and long-lasting games before, MAC Tournament officials announced Thursday night.
