CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Ohio University Softball Team (10-3) split its second day of competition at the 2013 University of Tennessee-Chattanooga Frost Classic, falling to Lipscomb to start the day before earning a walk-off win against Boston College via the bat of senior slugger Caitlin Colvin.
Just 13 games into the 2013 season, Colvin has tied the third best single-season home run mark in program history with eight.

Despite receiving hits from six different Bobcats, Ohio was unable to score in its first game of the day, falling to Lipscomb by a final score of 6-0.
The Bison got off to a fast start, scoring four runs in the top of the second inning to take an early lead. With one run already in, Brit Elmore blasted a three-run home run to give Lipscomb a solid advantage. Lipscomb was then able to add one run to its lead in the top of the third inning through a solo home run.
Ohio worked a runner around to third base in the bottom of the fourth inning when Sloan Walker (Cypress, Texas) singled, stole second, and advanced to third on an Adrienne Gebele (Annapolis, Md.) single.
The Bison added one more run in the top of the sixth inning, scoring on a two-out double.

Ohio engineered an impressive comeback in its second game of the afternoon, taking down the Boston College Eagles with a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh inning. Trailing 6-3 and just three outs away from a loss, the Bobcats tacked on five runs in the bottom of the seventh.
The Eagles took an early 3-0 lead, scoring one run in the top of the first inning and two more in the top of the second. Ohio answered back in the bottom of the second frame, scoring three runs to level the scores. Raven King (Alpine, Utah) hit a two-run shot with one out before Amanda Dalton (Salem, Va.) walked and Alyssa Wolfe (Junction City, Ohio) tripled to right center to bring her home to score.
Boston College reclaimed the lead in the top of the third inning, scoring two runs to take a 5-3 advantage. The Eagles then added one more run in the top of the fourth, extending their lead to three runs.
With one out in the bottom of the seventh inning, Wolfe began Ohio’s rally by singling to left center. Lex Cortex (Beaufort, S.C.) was hit by a pitch in Ohio’s next at bat, advancing Wolfe to second. Alexandria Basquez (Elk Grove, Calif.) then reached on an error by the third baseman, loading the bases for the Bobcats. Lauren Gellerman (San Diego, Calif.) hit a clutch single to center field, driving in two runs. Colvin (Bonney Lake, Wash.) then stepped up to the plate and hit her team-leading seventh home run of the season, a three-run shot which gave the Bobcats a walk-off victory.
The Bobcats will conclude play at the UTC Frost Classic on Sunday against Tennessee Tech at 12:15 p.m.
