ATHENS, Ga. - Following a series of weather delays which pushed back Ohio's opening game of the day by a few hours, the Bobcats finished day two at the 2012 University of Georgia Bulldog Invitational by posting an 0-2 mark. Ohio was beaten 10-0 in five innings by Minnesota in the first game before putting up a good fight against No. 7 Georgia and eventually falling 7-3.

Ohio lost the first game of the day to Minnesota, falling 10-0 in five innings to the Golden Gophers. The `Cats ran into a solid pitching outing by Minnesota's Sara Moulton and were only able to muster three hits in the contest.

Minnesota (13-3) leapt out to an early lead, taking a 1-0 advantage in the top of the first inning. The Golden Gophers added two more runs in the top of the third to extend their lead to three runs. A double to right field by Tyler Walker drove in the first run of the inning. Minnesota hit two doubles in this frame.

Ohio was able to threaten in the bottom of the fourth inning. Lauren Gellerman (San Diego, Calif.) led off the frame with a single to the left side of the infield. Her pinch runner, Erin Lashley (Pickerington, Ohio) advanced to second on a wild pitch and then was able to make her way to third after a sharp shot by Timmie Rappe (Wheaton, Ill.) forced the pitcher into an error. Moulton was able to settle down and earn a two-out strikeout to end the threat, however.

In the top of the fifth, Minnesota was able to put the game away. The Golden Gophers scored four runs on three hits and one Ohio error to take a 10-0 advantage. Ohio was unable to plate any runs in the bottom of the fifth and the game ended with the 10-0 score line.

Ohio got off to a fast start, taking a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Alexis Joseph (Alvin, Texas) singled to lead off the game, setting up her teammates in good position. Brooke Morgart (Wayne, Ohio) was able to reach on a fielder's choice during the next at-bat and worked her way to second on a fielding error by the shortstop. Morgart was then driven home when Raven King (Alpine, Utah) came through in the clutch once again and singled to center field.

Lauren McClary (Pasadena, Texas) shut down the Bulldogs' potent offense in the first inning, deftly getting out a jam which involved a runner on third base and one out.

The Bulldogs were able to claim the lead in the second inning, scoring their first run when Anna Swafford was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. The second run of the frame came around when Ashley Pauly singled to second base, driving in Brittney Hubbard.
