ATHENS, Ohio – With the 40th season in program history recently underway, seven Ohio Softball student-athletes are taking time from their busy schedules to speak with OhioBobcats.com. Tuesday’s guest was Chelsea Hortman, a senior outfielder from Cincinnati, Ohio.
Chelsea had a strong 2012 season, hitting .256 and slugging at a rate of .535. The senior hit seven home runs and three doubles, driving in 21 total runs and scoring 15. She showed good discipline at the plate as well, walking 11 times throughout the year.
The Bobcats will continue the 2013 season at the Louisville Slugger Desert Classic on Feb. 15 in Las Vegas. At the tournament, Ohio will match up against No. 5 Oregon, No. 19 UCLA, Idaho State, host UNLV, and Louisiana-Monroe.
