Dorsey is 4-1 in six appearances during her freshman season

ATHENS, Ohio - Savannah Jo Dorsey of the Ohio University Softball Team has been named the Mid-American Conference's East Division Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced today. The award marks the second time in as many weeks that Ohio has collected a weekly accolade from the MAC office.
Savannah Jo Dorsey (Grove City, Ohio) had an excellent weekend for Ohio Softball, posting a 2-0 record in three appearances at the 2013 Easton Desert Classic. The freshman posted a 3.97 ERA and a WHIP of 1.78 throughout the weekend, pitching 12.1 innings, allowing seven earned runs, and striking out 14 batters. Dorsey's best appearance of the weekend was a dominating one against Louisiana-Monroe, one in which she pitched three innings and struck out five batters while allowing just one hit and one run. She followed this up with a solid performance against UCLA during which she gave up less than one run per inning in five innings of work against the No. 18 Bruins.
The Bobcats will continue the 2013 season at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga Frost Classic on Friday, Feb. 22. At the tournament, the Bobcats will take on North Carolina Central, Niagara, Lipscomb, Boston College, and Tennessee Tech.
