Frost Classic Tournament Central
ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio University Softball Team prepares to play in its third tournament in as many weeks beginning on Friday, heading south to Chattanooga, Tenn., to compete in the 2013 UTC Frost Classic.
Currently off to their best start since the 1994 season, the Bobcats (7-2) will look to carry their momentum into the tournament, beginning with Friday contests against North Carolina Central (1:15 p.m.) and Niagara (3:30 p.m.). Ohio will then spend Saturday playing against Lipscomb (11 a.m.) and Boston College (1:15 p.m.) before ending the tournament on Sunday against Tennessee Tech (12:15 p.m.).
The 2013 Frost Classic is a 12-team, 30-game tournament which will feature limited live stat and box-score coverage. In addition to Frost Stadium, three other nearby fields will be used to host games throughout the weekend. The Bobcats will play one game on Field Three (N.C. Central), three games on Field Two (Niagara, Lipscomb, and Boston College), and one game on Field One (Tennessee Tech). Single-day tickets will cost eight dollars for fans planning to attend the tournament.
As a team, Ohio currently leads the Mid-American Conference in the following 15 statistical categories:

The Bobcats also claim the three top home run hitters in the conference, as Caitlin Colvin (5), Adrienne Gebele (3), and Lauren Gellerman (3) are having strong offensive seasons right from the start of the year.
Following this weekend’s tournament action, the Bobcats will take a one-week break from competition before heading to Seattle, Wash., for a game against Seattle University (March 7) and the 2013 University of Washington Husky Classic (March 8-9).
