ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio University Softball Team picked up a big addition to its schedule this week, adding a game against No. 18 Washington on March 6. The game will serve as Ohio’s opening contest of a west-coast swing which will see the Bobcats play six games in four days.
Ohio has played Washington just once in program history, losing to the Huskies 4-3 in an early season tournament during the 2010 season. This was the year immediately following Washington’s College World Series title in 2009.
The Bobcats (11-3) are poised to compete at the 2013 University of Washington Husky Classic on March 8-9. During this tournament, Ohio will take on Yale, No. 18 Washington, Seattle University, and Bradley.
Prior to the Husky Classic, Ohio will head out west a few days early to play at No. 18 Washington (March 6) and at Seattle University (March 7).
This trip will serve as a homecoming of sorts for senior slugger Caitlin Colvin. Ohio’s current leader in home runs with eight, Colvin is from nearby Bonney Lake, Wash., a mere 40 miles from Seattle.
