SEATTLE, Wash. - Due to inclement weather in Seattle, the 8:00 p.m. (EST) scheduled matchup between the Ohio University Softball Team (11-3) and the No. 18-ranked Washington Huskies (14-5) has been cancelled and will be not be rescheduled.
Ohio will continue its west-coast road trip tomorrow with a 6 p.m. contest against Seattle University before taking part in the UW Husky Classic this weekend.
The Bobcats are hitting .294 as a team, slugging at a rate of .557, have recorded 44 extra-base hits, and have belted 23 home runs. The Bobcats have outscored their opponents 99-55 in 14 games. Senior slugger Caitlin Colvin (Bonney Lake, Wash.) leads the way with eight home runs while RBI leader Lauren Gellerman (23 in 48 at bats) is one home run away from becoming the new program record-holder at 28.
Thanks in part to the early success on offense, the Bobcats are off to their best start since the 1994 season.
