ATHENS, Ohio - Future Bobcat Savannah Jo Dorsey is having a fantastic season at Central Crossing High School in Grove City, Ohio. The senior pitcher has an impressive 11 wins and only one loss for the year.
Dorsey leads the Comets (12-1) with 162 strike-outs, only 11 walks and an astounding 0.58 earned run average in 84 innings. After pitching a one-hitter in a 7-1 victory over Dublin Coffman on April 2, she threw a no-hitter against Hilliard Darby just two days later for a 10-2 win.
Virtually unhittable as of late, Dorsey also proves to be a threat at the plate, posting 19 hits in 38 at bats, walking six times and striking out only twice. She boasts an impressive .500 batting average with five RBI and four runs.
Central Crossing is currently ranked No. 4 in the state of Ohio and is the No. 1 team in the Central District.
Dorsey will be reunited with her former teammate, current Bobcat Dakota Pyles, when she comes to Ohio University in the fall. For more information on Dorsey, take a look at Ohio's signing class announced in November.
The Bobcats will next be in action this afternoon when they play a doubleheader at Ohio State. First pitch of the opening game is set for 5 p.m.
