OhioBobcats.com: When did you first get involved in softball?
Bonner: I started playing softball when I was four years old on a coach-pitch team, and then went into select-softball when I was a little older. I continued playing softball all the way through high school.

OhioBobcats.com: Do you remember your first softball game?
Bonner: I don't really remember the first softball game I've ever played in. I do remember a game when I first started playing ball, where I missed a fly ball that was right to me and got a bloody nose.

OhioBobcats.com: Who were your role models growing up?
Bonner: My parents were obviously huge role models when I was growing up, but besides them, I really looked up to my older brother Bryan. He is the person I strive to be like in both athletics and academics. Even when I was little, I remember wanting to do everything that he did.

OhioBobcats.com: What is involved in a childhood education major?
Bonner: With the childhood education major, I take a lot of education classes that mostly revolve around childhood development. With this degree, I can go into teaching or jobs related to day care because the degree covers ages 0-8.

OhioBobcats.com: Being from Ohio, were you a fan of the Bobcats growing up?
Bonner: I had always known about the Bobcats growing up, but I didn't follow them as much because Athens wasn't as close as some other sports teams.

OhioBobcats.com: What is your ultimate career goal?
Bonner: I'm not sure what kind of career I will end up with at this point, but I love kids and sports, so I would like to find a career that allows me to work with both of them.

OhioBobcats.com: Talk about returning to the lineup for the Bobcats and being one of the top hitters on the team?
Bonner: It felt really good to get back into the swing of things. It's always nice to have the coaches and team supporting me after not playing for three weeks. Their support helped give me the confidence that I needed at the plate. Hearing my hitting song for the first time also got me pumped up and ready to play!
