ATHENS, Ohio - Senior Melissa Bonner (Kings Mills, Ohio) of the Ohio University softball team was named Academic All District by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) in conjunction with Capital One. As a result of Bonner's First Team All-District Selection, she will be placed on the ballot to be named an Academic All-American.

Bonner has started all 31 games she has played in to date this season and ranks second on the team in batting average with a mark of .353. She ranks second on the team in slugging percentage (.608), is second on the team in home runs (six) and is 11-for-13 in stolen base attempts. She is a two-time First Team All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) choice and was selected to the conference's All-Freshman and All-Tournament teams in 2008.
