ATHENS, Ohio – Ohio Softball is taking part in Ohio University’s 2012 Homecoming Weekend, hosting its fifth annual Alumni Game on Saturday at 11 a.m.
A weekend of fun, re-uniting with former teammates and Bobcat Softball tradition, the event is projected to be well attended as 45 past Bobcats have submitted RSVPs. The game is scheduled to last just over an hour at the Ohio Softball Field before participants and attendees make their way over to the Varsity Ohio tailgate in advance of Ohio Football’s 2 p.m. game against Akron.
Something fun for fans and alumni alike to enjoy will be the pitching matchup between freshman Savannah Jo Dorsey and her mother, former Bobcat pitcher Rona Dorsey. Dorsey (Rona Huber when she played for Ohio) was a stellar pitcher in the 1980s and ranks seventh all-time in program history in wins (30) and third in earned-run average (1.65).
