LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Ohio Volleyball traveled to the Ohio Valley Volleyball Center in Louisville, Ky. on Saturday to continue its spring season at the KIVA Collegiate Invitational.

Serena Warner marked her presence in the Ohio rotation with 22 points on 17 kills. The freshman also attained a .484 attack efficiency and recorded three blocks for the Bobcats.

"I was pretty impressed with Serena," Head Coach Ryan Theis said. "She had a really nice performance overall, and that's something we have seen a lot of over these last two weeks of practice. I'm really excited with her progress so far."

Kelly Lamberti led the Bobcats offensively with 33 points on 29 kills. The freshman also ranked second on the team in digs with 27. Sophomore Mollie Geske paced the squad with 33. Freshman Chelsea Bilger was strong again for the Green and White with 21 points on 16 kills while redshirt freshman Liis Kullerkann racked up five aces.

"The team has taken some large strides in speeding up our offense so far this offseason, but I still think we have a way to go," Theis added.

The Bobcats suffered some tough luck in the third set of matches against Samford (12-15), Louisville (14-16), and Ole Miss (12-15), losing all three contests.

"We played three real nail-biters and I think it's ironic that we lost all three matches in the final set after the success of last season (8-1 in five-set matches)," Theis said. "We have been a very good team in pressure situations these last couple of seasons, so that was a little disappointing."

Ohio will continue spring action with a match against Marshall at Gullickson Hall, 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 21. The competition will be open to the public.
