ATHENS, Ohio - Ohio Volleyball took all four sets in a spring-season contest at Marshall this past weekend. The Bobcats won 25-21, 25-19, 25-21, 25-22.
Kelly Lamberti had 21 points (14 kills) while Chelsea Bilger accumulated 15 points and Lexie Hartnett added 10. Hartnett had her best match of the spring with nine kills and a .533 hitting percentage.
"We have been working very hard so far this offseason," associate head coach Meghan Keck said. "We wanted to come out here today and compete at a high level and I thought we played very hard during the afternoon session."
Bilger led the team in blocks as the Bobcats racked up 12 on the day. Lamberti had five of Ohio's 14 aces, while Leah Petrovich added three. Petrovich and Mollie Geske tied for the team lead with 14 digs apiece.
"The spring is a time to learn and grow, it's an ongoing process," Keck said. "I think after losing some tough matches last weekend, being able to come out and get a victory today was good for the players to show them the progress we are making."
Ohio heads to Muncie, Indiana next weekend for a match against Northwestern. The teams will play at the Munciana Volleyball Club with action scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
