Bobcats Extend Home Win Streak to 39

ATHENS, Ohio - The No. 21 Ohio volleyball team remains undefeated on its home court after sweeping MAC opponent Buffalo, 3-0 (30-15, 30-11, 30-18) on Friday night. Ohio has won 40 consecutive matches on its home court since the 2002 season. The Bobcats also have 39 straight wins against conference opponents during the regular season. The Bobcats advance to a 15-3 overall record and 7-0 record in the MAC. The Bobcats are also on an eight-match winning streak dating back to Sept. 16 when they defeated Santa Barbara , 3-0, in San Diego, Calif. Buffalo falls 13-10 on the season and 2-5 in the MAC. Stephanie Blackburn (Cincinnati, Ohio) led Ohio's offense with 14 kills on a season-high .545 hitting percentage. Blackburn also served up two aces. Amanda Andersen (Lino Lakes, Minn.) chipped in 12 kills and Ellen Herman (Toledo, Ohio) and Melissa Griffin (Whitehall, Mich.) had eight kills apiece. Jane Sytsma (Madison, Wis.) added six kills. Savanah Parra (Temecula, Calif.) totaled 31 assists and Jill DeArmond (Fort Wayne, Ind.) added 10. Molly Mangan (Claire, Ill.) matched a season-high four ace serves and Michaele Blackburn (Cincinnati, Ohio) led Ohio's defense with 12 digs. Buffalo was led by Jenna Mape and Nikki Morzenti with eight kills each. Brandie Clark totaled a team-high 18 assists and Lizaiha Garcia led the defense with 10 digs. Ohio outhit Buffalo .427 to .077 and served nine aces to Buffalo's zero. |
