Kelly Lamberti led Ohio with 16 kills as it knocked off Toledo tonight in straight sets.

ATHENS, Ohio - Ohio Volleyball swept Toledo 25-14, 26-24, 27-25 on Saturday night to improve to 15-7, 7-1 in MAC play. The Bobcats bounced back from last night's setback to remain tied atop the league standings as Kelly Lamberti finished with a match-high 16 kills and hit .333.
Lamberti's classmate Chelsea Bilger had 12 kills and a match-high 13 digs for another double-double. Katie Post had nine kills and hit .467, while finishing with a match-high nine blocks. Ohio notched 17.0 blocks in the match, its most in a three- set match this season. Lamberti leads Ohio in kills during MAC play and hit the century mark in her eighth league match. Post is tops on the team with 43 blocks and is hitting .405 during conference action.
Ohio and Toledo were even in the first set, 7-7, before an eight-point run by the Bobcats. During that stretch, the Bobcats picked up three kills, two blocks and forced three Toledo errors. Ohio would eventually push the lead to 11 points at 20-9, and go on to win the set by the same differential. Lamberti and Post had three kills apiece and the Bobcats racked up an astounding 8.0 team blocks to go ahead 1-0 in the match.
Toledo used an early four-point run to take a 7-3 lead in the second set, but the Bobcats rallied and a kill by Bilger evened things at 13-13. Trailing 17-15, the `Cats scored four in a row as Lamberti notched two kills and a block. The Ohio lead reached four points at 22-18 but Toledo rallied this time and evened things at 24-24.
Facing the possibility of a tied match, Bilger delivered her fourth kill before Post and Robins combined on a block to win the set for the Bobcats. Post was a perfect four-for-four on attacks in the set, Lamberti finished with seven kills for the Green & White and the team hit .350. Ohio also notched four more blocks and went into the intermission ahead 2-0 in the match with 12 denials already to its credit.
Ohio trailed for most of the third set but didn't want to give the Rockets any chance of getting back into the match. The Bobcats stayed close and their largest deficit was only three points, but they were one point away from dropping the set at 24-22.
However, the Rockets committed successive errors and Lamberti slammed home a kill for a 25-24 Ohio lead. After UT tied it, Robins and Post combined on Ohio's final block of the night and the Rockets erred again to end the match in three sets, 27-25. Lamberti and Bilger each finished with six kills apiece for the `Cats and Ohio added five more blocks its total.
The Bobcats are back on the road next weekend and play their next four matches away from home. Ohio plays MAC West opponents Western Michigan on Friday night and Northern Illinois on Saturday night.
