Herman to China with USA Training Team

ATHENS, Ohio- Bobcat standout Ellen Herman heads to China with the United States Women's National Volleyball Training Team for an exhibition against the Guangdong Evergrande Women's Volleyball Team of the Chinese Professional League. The competition, dubbed the "2010 Evergrande China-USA Women's Volleyball Challenge" is scheduled to take place on February 2 at 7:30 p.m. local time.

Herman (Toledo, Oh.) ended her stellar Bobcat career with a conference-record 1,984 kills on 4,925 total attacks. She also accumulated 809 digs, 65 service aces, 72 solo blocks and 141 assisted blocks. Herman was Mid-American Conference Freshman of the Year in 2006, back-to-back MAC Player of the Year in 2008 and 2009, MAC Tournament MVP in 2008 in addition to earning conference First Team honors in all four years of her career. She was also named a 2009 Division One Honorable Mention All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Joining Herman on the squad will be players such as Jilly Collymore (University of Washington), Megan Hodge (Penn State University), Angie Pressey (University of California) and Tracy Stalls (University of Nebraska). The team will leave for China on January 28.
