ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio volleyball team hosted its annual spring tournament at the Convocation Center on Saturday to kick off its spring season. The Bobcats won all four matches they played against Marshall, Wheeling Jesuit and Wittenberg in a round robin formatted tournament and new Ohio Head Coach Ryan Theis got his first look at the Bobcats outside of a practice setting.

"I was very pleased with our effort," said Theis. "I'm impressed with the team's ability to learn a slightly different style of play in such a short period of time."

The Bobcats defeated Wittenberg 2-1, Marshall 2-0, Wheeling Jesuit 2-1, and then in the championship match defeated Marshall 2-0.

"One of the main things you want to do in the spring is try and stay healthy, and we were fortunate enough to finish the tournament healthy," explained Theis. "We still have a long way to go though after only one week of practice. Blocking and learning the different tempos we want to play are the things we are going to have to work the most on this spring."

Next up for the Bobcats is a tri-match in Dayton against the Flyers and Louisville on April 12.
