CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Ohio volleyball team played a series of two-game matches, going 6-3, at the Cincinnati Spring Tournament.

The Bobcats swept Marshall and Northern Kentucky 2-0 and split with Duke, Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky. Head coach Geoff Carlston said he saw much progression in the team's play.

"We have definitely been improving in terms of what we are focusing on," Carlston said. "We are just trying to stay aggressive and focus on our serving. Our defensive end of the game picked up as well this weekend.

"Even more important, the team culture, the things you can't really see on paper, those are the thing we are really focusing on and I thought our team did a nice job of that this weekend."

Ohio, which led the nation last year with 33 wins in advancing to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament, mixed rotations throughout the day.

"We played a lot of different lineups," head coach Geoff Carlston said.

The Bobcats will continue with their spring schedule Saturday when they host the Ohio Spring Volleyball Tournament. Ohio will welcome Charleston, Findlay and West Virginia State to the Convocation Center, with matches starting at 10 a.m.
