ATHENS, Ohio - Ohio head volleyball coach Geoff Carlston has been selected to coach an All-True-Freshman USA Select Team against Argentina National Teams May 31 through June 10.

"It is a great chance to work with other great coaches and some of the best players in the country," Carlston said. "It is an honor for our school and our program and it will be a very rewarding experience."

Carlston will be joined by Bobcat middle blocker Amanda Andersen (Lino Lakes, Minn.). Andersen is one of 12 true freshmen to be chosen to compete against Argentina's best.

The trip to Argentina will be sponsored by Bring It Promotions, which is under sanction by the USA Volleyball Federation. This experience marks the sixth year that USA Volleyball has recognized a trip of this nature.

"The USAV/BIP partnership has worked well in that USA recommends coaches and athletes for invitation and Bring It provides post-trip reports on everyone on the trip," USA Volleyball spokesperson Tom Pingel said. "The experience gained by the athletes and coaches simply can not be obtained through domestic play."

The team will arrive in Argentina Wednesday, May 31 and will begin competition Friday, June 2. The squad will play seven matches in seven days against six different Argentinean teams. The team will return to the United States June 10.
