ATHENS, Ohio - Ohio Athletics will hold its first Coffee with Coach this Thursday, July 26 at Union Street Cafe. Ohio Volleyball Head Coach Ryan Theis will be the first guest with the event, free to the public, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
It hasn't taken long for Theis to make an impact on the Ohio University volleyball program, capturing three-consecutive Mid-American Conference Tournament titles and leading the Bobcats to the NCAA Championships in his first three seasons on the bench.
Named the 11th head coach in program history on March 17, 2008, Theis immediately translated his reputation as both a superior tactician and one of the nation's premier recruiters into positive results. In his first season, Theis became only the second coach to win the MAC Tournament and take Ohio to the NCAA Championships. He was also only one of three head coaches nationally to lead his team to a berth in the NCAA Championships during his first season in charge.
His current overall record of 96-38, including a 51-13 record in MAC regular season play, also features consecutive trips to the NCAA Tournament Second Round for only the second time in program history. The Bobcats have also captured the MAC's Eastern Division title all four seasons under Theis.
Ohio Volleyball season tickets are now on sale for just $20! Fans can also purchase the Ohio All-Sport Pass for $40, which includes tickets to every regular season baseball, softball, volleyball and women's basketball game. For tickets, click here or call 800-575-CATS (2287).
