Meredith Ashy was honored by the league for her performances on the court this weekend.

ATHENS, Ohio - Meredith Ashy was named the MAC Volleyball East Division Co-Defensive Player of the Week by the league office today. The freshman continued her impressive start as she helped the Bobcats sweep the weekend against Kent State and Eastern Michigan.
Ashy surpassed 20 digs for the fourth and fifth time this season, leading the squad in the category for the weekend. After 20 digs in a win over the Golden Flashes, she did one better and notched 21 in a sweep of EMU. The total against the Eagles was the best three-set performance by a Bobcat this season. Heading into the weekend, Ashy was one of the league leaders in digs at 4.44 digs per set
Also this weekend, Faith Robins tacked on nine kills, one shy of her season-high against KSU while Lexie Hartnett had seven kills to surpass the century mark for the season. Hartnett then led Ohio with seven blocks against EMU, a season-high for her, as Ohio racked up 11.0 total team blocks. Serena Warner paced Ohio against KSU with eight blocks, her second-highest total of the season.
Kelly Lamberti notched consecutive double-doubles on the weekend while classmate Chelsea Bilger matched her season-high with 14 kills against the Eagles and led the team in the category for the weekend. Abby Gilleland had 42 assists vs. EMU, her most in a three-set match this season, and surpassed the 400-assist mark on the weekend. She has now surpassed the 40-assist mark in three matches (Illinois, Dayton).
Ohio is at home again this weekend with matches against Akron and Buffalo. Both matches, on Friday and Saturday respectively, start at 7 p.m.
