Gilleland has earned MAC East Offensive Player of the Week honors three times this season.

ATHENS, Ohio – For the third time this season, sophomore setter Abby Gilleland has been named the MAC East Offensive Player of the Week.
Gilleland earned the honor Monday after notching 10.3 assists/set and hitting .476 on the weekend while leading Ohio to its second-straight regular season MAC title. The Bull Valley, Ill., native also recorded 2.1 points/set, 1.8 kills/set and 1.3 digs/set in a 2-0 homestand for the Green & White.
On Thursday vs. Kent State, Gilleland notched a match-high 34 assists while tallying six kills on nine attempts for a .667 hitting percentage. She also chipped in six digs and two block assists on the night. Against Central Michigan on Saturday, Gilleland set up the Ohio offense with a game-high 28 assists and knocked down five kills while hitting .333.
She also registered two digs and a block assist against the Chippewas.
Ohio returns to action Friday when the Green & White open play in the 2013 MAC Championship. The Bobcats are the No. 1 seed and will take on No. 8 Kent State at noon at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
