ATHENS, Ohio – Three members of the Ohio University volleyball team were named Academic All-MAC for their superb efforts on the court and in the classroom during the 2013 season.
Junior outside hitter Kelly Lamberti (Cary, Ill.) and sophomore setter Abby Gilleland (Bull Valley, Ill.) were selected to the Academic All-MAC team, while redshirt junior right side Liis Kullerkann (Keila, Estonia) earned honorable mention honors.
Lamberti garnered the second Academic All-MAC honor of her career, while Kullerkann was named honorable mention for the second-straight campaign.
Ohio has placed 34 players on the Academic All-MAC ledger since the honor’s inception.
To earn a spot on the Academic All-MAC Team, student-athletes must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and participate in at least 50 percent of their team's contests. For more information about Ohio volleyball's academic award winners, please see below:

AVCA All-America Honorable Mention...AVCA All-Region… First Team All-MAC… MAC All-Tournament Team…Oregon Classic All-Tournament Team…MAC East Offensive Player of the Week (Oct. 7)… MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week (Oct. 9)… Ranked eighth in the MAC in kills/set overall (3.14) and in conference play (2.98)…Team-high 14 double-doubles on the year…Also ranked second on Ohio with 2.91 digs/set…Averaged 3.6 kills, 3.2 digs/set and hit .294 against teams ranked in AVCA Coaches Poll… One of just three Ohio players all time with 1,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs.

AVCA All-America Honorable Mention...AVCA All-Region…MAC Player of the Year…MAC Setter of the Year…First Team All-MAC… Oregon Classic MVP…Michigan Invitational All-Tournament Team…Three-time MAC Offensive Player of the Week (Sept. 2, Oct. 28, Nov. 18)… MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week (Sept. 4)… Commanded the league's most efficient offense, which ranked in the top-25 nationally in hitting percentage (.262)… In conference games, ranked third in the MAC in assists/set (10.79), third in hitting percentage (.347)… Hit .349 and averaged 0.7 blocks/set and 2.8 digs/set (all above her season averages) in six matches against MAC teams with +.500 conference records…Recorded more assists than opponent setters in all 16 league matches.

WKU Invitational All-Tournament Team… Enjoyed a breakout season in 2013 in which she ranked fourth on the Bobcats in kills/set (2.12) and blocks/set (0.70)…Double-digit kills in seven matches and at least seven kills in 20 contests…Hit .400 or better in 11 matches…Career-best 15 kills, hit .667 in MAC Championship Final vs. Eastern Michigan.
