UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Ohio University women's cross country team opened its 2012 season on Saturday at the Harry Groves Invitational and posted a fifth-place finish.
Junior Juli Accurso (Casstown, Ohio), who is coming off an All-American season in 2011, picked up right where she left off from a year ago as she won the 6-kilometer race, posting a time of 21:03. Accurso posted an average pace of 5:51 to claim the race.
Sophomore Morgan Reichert (Pataskala, Ohio) also posted a top 20 performance as she 18th in a time of 22:18. Junior Melissa Thompson, Kayla Scott and Tessa Weigand rounded out the top 5 as they finished 18, 22, 29, 38, respectively.
The Bobcats returns to action next week as it plays host to the Ohio Invitational beginning at 2:30 p.m.
