Bobcat Women Race to a Winning Performance

ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio University women's cross country claimed the Ohio Invitational Saturday morning as it claimed the top four positions and won the event with 16 points.

Sophomore Caroline Hildebrand (Hilliard, Ohio) was the top Ohio finisher in the 5-kilometer race, pacing the squad in a time of 18:27.95.

Sophomores Ashley Waddington (Sandusky, Ohio), Tessa Weigand (Akron, Ohio) and Maureen Dean (Sylvania, Ohio) placed second, third and fourth in times of 18:35.86, 19:10.46 and 19:12.54, respectively.

Behind the Green and White were Cleveland State (46 points) and Ohio Dominican (79 points).

The victory marks the fourth-consecutive year the `Cats have won the Ohio Invitational.

The next event for the Bobcats will be on Sept. 20 when they travel to Winston Salem, N.C. to face Wake Forest. The race is set to begin at 6 p.m.
