Accurso Leads Ohio Women at Toledo Bubble Buster

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Ohio University women's cross country team took ninth with 220 points at the 2012 Toledo Inter-Regional Bubble Buster Invitational Friday night. The 4-kilometer race was held at Ottawa Park.

Junior Juli Accurso (Casstown, Ohio) was the top Bobcat finisher as she placed third, clocking a time of 13:20.8. Accurso finished just 16 seconds behind Butler's Katie Clark, who finished the meet in a time of 13:04.8 to win the race.

Junior Melissa Thompson (Westerville, Ohio) was the next Bobcat finisher as she took 33rd in a time of 13:58.0.

Ohio was one of 14 schools that competed in the race. Butler won the race, finishing with 72 points. San Francisco and Columbia rounded out the top three, totaling 86 and 92 points, respectively.

Toledo was the top finishing school from the Mid-American Conference as it placed fourth with 98 points.

Ohio returns to action next week with a pair of races. The first meet will be the Notre Dame Invitational which will be held in South Bend, Ind. on Sept. 28. The second meet will be held in Cedarville, Ohio as the `Cats take part in the All-Ohio Championship on Sept. 29.
