ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio women's cross country team placed six individuals in the top 10 spots and finished with 27 points to win the 2011 Ohio University Cross Country Invitational Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore Allison Stillwell (Zanesville, Ohio) was the top finisher for the Bobcats as she clocked a time of 22:41.96 to place runner-up in the 5-kilometer race. Stillwell finished just four seconds behind Robert Morris' Michelle Schiewe, who won the race in a time of 22:37.35.
Fellow Ohio sophomore Melissa Thompson (Westerville, Ohio) also turned in a solid race, finishing in a time of 22:48.00 to place fourth.
Junior Emily Skidmore (Athens, Ohio), senior Hannah Charbell (Vandalia, Ohio), junior Ashley Waddington (Sandusky, Ohio) and senior Abbie Selhorst (Ottawa, Ohio) rounded out the top 10 for Ohio as they finished sixth, seventh, eighth and 10th, respectively.
Ohio returns to action on Friday as it heads to Cedarville, Ohio to take part in the All-Ohio Championship. The championship is set to begin 2 p.m.
