Ohio Women Picked Third in MAC Preseason Poll

Julie Accurso will be in search of her 3rd consecutive MAC individual crown this fall

ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio University Women’s Cross Country team was picked to finish third in the 2013 Mid-American Conference Preseason Poll. Ohio returns senior runner Juli Accurso (Casstown, Ohio) who was the first bobcat to ever win an NCAA regional meet. She also successfully defended her MAC Individual crown.

The Bobcats also return junior Morgan Reichert (Pataskala, Ohio) and senior Melissa Thompson (Westerville, Ohio) both of whom earned All-MAC Second Team honors a year ago.

The Bobcats were selected third behind the Toledo Rockets which captured its third consecutive MAC championship title last season. The Rockets will return all but one of their runners from last season.

Ranked second was Miami University, followed by Ohio, Eastern Michigan, and Central Michigan. The full list of rankings for the MAC preseason poll are as follows:

7. Akron
9. Kent State
10. NIU
11. WMU
12. Ball State

Ohio will be in action this Saturday at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio beginning at 10 a.m.
