ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio University men's and women's cross country teams will play host to its lone home meet at the Ohio Invitational on Saturday. The women's race begins at 10 a.m. with the men's race set to begin immediately after at 10:45 a.m. on the Ohio University Golf Course.
The Bobcats' women squad will look to build off of last week's performance at the Miami Invitational where they placed four runners in the Top 10. Senior Juli Accurso (Casstown, Ohio) paced Ohio, finishing in a time of 17:30.2.
In 2012, Allison Roeth (Piqua, Ohio) led the Bobcats to a winning performance at the Ohio Invitational as she paced the field in a time of 18:35.96
The men's squad enters this weekend's meet coming off a win at the Miami Invitational in Oxford, Ohio last Saturday. Ohio placed five runners in the top 10 with sophomore Jarrod Genther (Canal Winchester, Ohio) pacing the team as he finished third.
The Bobcats will look to defend its Ohio Invitational crown from the last three consecutive years.
During last year's 8-kilometer race, Ohio's Matt Watts (Gallipolis, Ohio) finished second in a time of 25:49.12. The `Cats also placed six other runners in the top 10.
