Accurso Named MAC Female Scholar Athlete of the Week

ATHENS, Ohio - Senior cross country runner Juli Accurso was selected as the Female Scholar Athlete of the Week by the Mid-American Conference on Wednesday.

Accurso (Casstown, Ohio) received the award for the second time this season after she won the individual title for the third-consecutive year this past weekend at the 2013 MAC Cross Country Championship.

By winning the league championship for the third straight year, Accurso became the first female runner in league history to win the MAC individual cross country title in three-consecutive years.

The three-time All-American claimed the 6k title after crossing the finish line in 20:37.46. Her first-place finish marks the third time she has finished in the top-5 of a race this season.

In the classroom, Accurso holds a 3.882 grade point average in French and Linguistics. She also on pace to graduate this spring.
