ATHENS, Ohio - Ohio University women's cross country team travels to Madison, Wis. to compete in the 2013 NCAA Great Lakes Regional on Friday. The event begins at 1:15 p.m. and will be held at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course.

Senior Juli Accurso (Casstown, Ohio) will look to reclaim the NCAA Regional title as she finished first in a school record time of 20:07 in last year's event. The senior is coming off of a record-breaking Mid-American Conference championship two weeks ago where she became the first runner in league history to win the competition three times in a row.

As a team, the Bobcats finished fifth with 120 points at the conference championships.

Competing in this year's women's Regional will be 34 teams and 320 runners. Ohio will look to improve upon its 12th-place finish from a year ago. The Bobcats have finished 12th in each of the past two seasons.

Michigan, which enters the event as the two-time defending champion, enters the competition ranked No. 14 in the nation. Michigan State, Notre Dame, Butler, placed second, third and fourth, respectively in last year's race. This year, MSU, UND and BU come into this year's race ranked No. 6, No. 21 and No. 9 in the nation, respectively.
