CLEVELAND --The Ohio women's basketball has revealed its 18-game 2019 Mid-American Conference schedule, the conference office announced. The Bobcats will play nine games in the Convocation Center and nine games on the road.
Ohio will take on each of its five East Division rivals twice -- once at home and once on the road. The Bobcats will play each of the six MAC West teams at least once and will square off against both Ball State and Central Michigan twice -- once at home and once on the road.
The Bobcats open the MAC schedule on the read at Buffalo on Saturday, Jan. 5 to take on the Bulls, who ended last season at the Sweet Sixteen. The Bobcats will open the home portion of the MAC schedule on Wednesday, Jan. 9 against the reigning MAC Regular Season and Tournament Champion Central Michigan squad, who also concluded last season in the Sweet Sixteen.
January continues with a trip to Ball State on Saturday, Jan. 12, before returning the Athens for two-straight games at home against Kent State (Jan. 16) and Eastern Michigan (Jan. 19). Ohio will the head to Northern Illinois on Wednesday, Jan. 23 and Bowling Green on Saturday, Jan. 26, before taking on Miami on Wednesday, Jan. 30.
February will open with two-consecutive matchups in the Convocation Center, with MAC West foe Ball State making the trip to Athens on Saturday, Feb. 2, followed by Akron on Wednesday, Feb. 6. Saturday, Feb. 9 will see the Bobcats make a trip to Mount Pleasant, Mich. to take on CMU for their second matchup of the season, before heading to Toledo on Wednesday, Feb. 13 to take on the Rockets.
Ohio will then take Western Michigan on Saturday, Feb. 16 in Athens, before heading to Kent State to meet up with the Flashes on Saturday, Feb. 23. The Bobcats conclude February in Athens on Wednesday, Feb. 27 when they host Buffalo inside the Convo.
The Bobcats will open March with back-to-back road games on Saturday, March 2 at Akron and Wednesday, March 6 at Miami. Ohio will conclude the regular season on Saturday, March 9 against Bowling Green inside the Convocation Center.
This year's MAC Women's Basketball Tournament will begin Monday, March 11th with round one games on campus before moving to Cleveland's Quicken Loans Arena for games on March 13, 15-16. CBS Sports Network will host the MAC Women's Basketball Tournament Championship Game on Saturday, March 16th.
Under sixth-year head coach Bob Boldon, the Bobcats have won 100 games, including MAC Regular Season Titles in 2015 and '16, and the MAC Tournament crown in 2015. Also under Boldon, the Bobcats have produced nine All-MAC Selections, four All-Freshman Selections, four All-Defense selections and the 2016 MAC Defensive Player of the Year and the 2018 MAC Freshman of the Year in Cece Hooks. The Bobcats return most of their roster from last season, including Hooks, Dominique Doseck, Kendall Jessing, Amani Burke, Katie Barker and Gabby Burris.
