CLEVELAND – Four members of the Ohio Women's Basketball team were named Academic All Mid-American Conference, the league announced today (April 8). Junior Amani Burke, sophomore Gabby Burris, senior Dominique Doseck and senior Kendall Jessing all earned the honor.

Burke (Columbus, Ohio), a child and family studies major, earned the award for the first time in her career. Burke finished the year averaging 13.3 points per game and shot 40.4 behind the three-point line, the best in the MAC. Burke tied the MAC record and set the Ohio record for threes in a game earlier this year when she knocked down 11 against Ball State. Burke became Ohio's 16th 1,000 point scorer during her junior year and 1,102 points in her career.

Burris (Baltimore, Ohio), who is undeclared, earned the award for the first time in her career. Burris is well on her way to 1,000 points in her career with 715 total. Burris shot 40.3 percent from the field last season and averaged 11.4 points per game. Burris had a career-high of 25 in Ohio's win over Lamar. She had a double-double in that game and had four overall.

Doseck (Athens, Ohio), a sports management major, took home Academic All-MAC honors for the third time in her career. Doseck won MAC East Player of the Week honors once this season after she tied her career-high of 27 points in Ohio's win over American. Doseck was second in the MAC in three-point percentage this season at 39.2 percent. Her 82 threes made this season was fourth all-time in a single-season at Ohio. Doseck finished her career with 196 made threes, good for fourth in program history.

Jessing (Sylvania, Ohio), a graphic design major, won the honor for the second time in her career. Jessing appeared in 29 games for the Bobcats, scoring 53 points and pulling down 54 rebounds. Jessing set career highs in points (14), FG made (4), 3FG made (2), FT made (4) and FT attempted (6) in Ohio's win over Coppin State.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
