ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio athletic department has announced its primary broadcasters for their BobcatTV/ESPN3 broadcasts of its men’s and women’s basketball games this winter. Marty Bannister will serve in the play-by-play role and Toni Roesch will cover the color analyst position.

Bannister spent nearly 13 years as an announcer for the Ohio State-IMG Sports Network, serving as the lead play-by-play voice for Buckeyes women's basketball and baseball games.  The veteran broadcaster was also the backup play-by-play announcer for OSU football and men's basketball and the sideline reporter for Buckeyes football games.

Bannister was the lead play-by-play voice of the Arena Football League's Columbus Destroyers from 2004-07, and spent nearly seven years as a play-by-play announcer for Time Warner television doing Wright State University basketball, baseball and softball, and Bowling Green State University football.

Bannister has done play-by-play for the Midwest Collegiate Conference women's basketball tournament on Fox Sports/ESPN regional networks and has also worked for various Ohio State and Ohio High School Athletic Association events on the Ohio News Network. He began his on-air career with 11-plus years as sports producer/anchor for WBNS and ONN in Columbus.

Roesch is an experienced broadcaster with work in both radio and television. She has served as a color analyst for Big Ten, MAC, MAAC and WNBA games and broadcast games on ESPN, Fox and Comcast.

Roesch is a product of Columbus Bishop Hartley high school where she was a part of two teams that made State Tournament appearances. She was named All-Ohio three times during her high school career.  The point guard went on to play for Ohio State where she was a member of four Big Ten Championship teams. She was an All-Big Ten selection her senior year as well as being named Co-Captain.

Roesch spent much of her professional career as a coach including stops at Stetson University, Marietta College and Ohio State. She also served as head coach at her High School alma mater, taking them back to the State Tournament. Roesch was named Coach of the Year three times during her career.

Roesch’s passion for teaching the game led her to Ohio Sports Plus as one of the founding partners.  She has instructed thousands of kids on all levels with many going on to play on the collegiate level.

Roesch was inducted into the Greater Columbus Basketball Legends Association Hall of Fame on August 22, 2015.
