NOBLESVILLE, Ind.– The Ohio women's golf team wrapped up play at the 2018 MAC Fall Preview hosted by Central Michigan at the 5,991-yard Purgatory Golf Club on Monday (Oct. 15). The Bobcats finished the tournament tied for eighth place after shooting a 325, giving them a tournament total of 930 (+66).
Xavier won the team competition, finishing the tournament with an overall score of 883 (+19).
Leading the way for Ohio was freshman Catherine Loftus (Roswell, Ga.) who finished tied for 15th place, her best finish as a Bobcat thus far. Loftus finished the tournament on Monday with a third-round score of 83, giving her a two-day total of 227 (+11).
Next is senior Emily Hughes (Columbus, Ohio), started the day in 47th place, but climbed 24 spots to finish the tournament tied for 23rd place. Hughes finished the day with a round of 73, helping her wrap up the tournament with an overall score of 229 (+13).
Senior Nicole Smiley (Dublin, Ohio), finished in 51st place after recording a score of 87 on Monday, giving her a three-round score of 239 (+23). Fellow senior Chloe McKinzie (Medina, Ohio) finished right behind her in 52nd place after finishing the third round with an 83, giving her a two-day total of 240 (+24).
Freshman Alicia Porvasnik (Hinckley, Ohio) rounded out the scoring Bobcats, finishing tied for 63rd place after recording an 86 on Monday. Porvasnik finished the MAC Fall Preview with an overall score of 245 (+29).
Competing unattached for Ohio was sophomore Amanda Hayes (Dayton, Ohio), who finished in 68thplace. Hayes finished the day with an 89, giving her a two-day total of 251 (+35).
