LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla.– The Ohio women's golf team wrapped up play at the 2019 Mid-American Match Play Challenge on Tuesday (Feb. 5), defeating Purdue Fort Wayne, 2-1-2, in the consolation bracket at the Lakewood Ranch Country Club.
Host Bowling Green won this year's event, defeating Florida Gulf Coast in a team tiebreaker.
Ohio's first match of the day saw freshman Alicia Porvasnik's (Hinckley, Ohio) match with Paige Bird finish all square. Junior Marissa Balish (Allison Park, Pa.) won her third match of the event, defeating Emma Shroeder, 3&2.
Rounding out the Bobcats was senior Emily Hughes (Columbus, Ohio), who finished her matchup with Holly Anderson all square.
Up next, Ohio travels to Rio Verde, Ariz. from Friday, Feb. 22 through Sunday, Feb. 24 for the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational. The three-day event is hosted by Western Michigan at the Rio Verde Country Club.
