RICHMOND, Ky. – The Ohio women's golf team finished play at the 2019 Lady Colonel Classic hosted by Eastern Kentucky, on Saturday (March 30) at the 5,885 University Club at Arlington. The Bobcats finished the tournament tied for 7th place after shooting a final round of 322, giving them a two-day total of 923 (+59).
Eastern Kentucky was named the team champion after a strong final two rounds, giving them a two-day total of 875 (+11).
Leading Ohio was senior Nicole Smiley (Dublin, Ohio) who finished Saturday with a 75, giving her a two-day total of 216 (E), tying her for 2nd place. Freshman Catherine Loftus (Roswell, Ga.) and senior Emily Hughes (Columbus, Ohio) both finished the tournament tied for 38th place. Loftus finished shooting a third round of 83 while Hughes finished shooting a third round of 84, giving both Bobcats a two-day total of 234 (+18).
Junior Marissa Balish (Allison Park, Pa.) finished the tournament tied for 63rd after shooting an 82 on Saturday, giving her a tournament total of 242 (+26). Rounding out the scoring Bobcats was senior Chloe McKinzie (Medina, Ohio) who finished tied for 69th after finishing Saturday with an 82, giving her a two-day total of 244 (+28).
Playing unattached for Ohio was freshman Alicia Porvasnik (Hinckley, Ohio) who finished tied for 66th place after finishing Saturday with an 83, giving her a two-day total of 243 (+27).
Up next, the Bobcats head to Bowling Green, Ohio, April 6-7 for the 2019 Dolores Black Falcon Invitational hosted by Bowling Green State University at the Stone Ridge Golf Club.
