ATHENS, Ohio – Five members of the Ohio wrestling team were included in the 2017-18 preseason weight class individual wrestling rankings announced the Mid-American Conference in conjunction with the league coaches Wednesday.
Ohio 165-pound junior Austin Reese (Urbana, Ohio) was the top-ranked wrestler at his weight class in the preseason rankings. Reese posted an 11-12 record last season.
Ohio had two wrestlers ranked third in the preseason rankings 133-pound junior Cameron Kelly (Bellbrook, Ohio) and 141-pound senior Noah Forrider (Marysville, Ohio). Kelly posted a 20-8 record last season while Forrider posted a 27-8 record, advancing to the NCAA Championships.
Ohio sophomore 197-pounder Bailey Faust (Lexington, Ohio) and junior heavyweight Zack Parker (Felton, Del.) were ranked number four at their respective weight classes. Faust posted a 12-8 record last season for the Bobcats while Parker posted a 22-14 record and advanced to the NCAA Championships.
The Bobcats were also ranked fourth in the preseason poll earning 10 points.

The 2018 MAC Wrestling Championships will be held March 3-4 and hosted by Central Michigan in Mount Pleasant, Mich. The MAC will serve as the host of the 2018 NCAA Wrestling Championships March 15-17 at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.
