Kelly Drops Opening Match At NCAA's Set To Open Thursday Night Session

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Ohio junior wrestler Cameron Kelly (Bellbrook, Ohio) dropped his opening match in the 2018 NCAA Wrestling Championships Thursday.

North Dakota State's Cam Sykora picked up an 11-3 major decision in the pigtail match which kicked off the championship event at 133-pounds.

Kelly scored the first takedown of the match but was reversed in the opening frame. Kelly picked up his other point on an escape from the opening position in the second round.

Kelly now faces Ben Thornton of Purdue in the consolation bracket's pigtail match which will kick off the evening session of the 2018 NCAA Wrestling Championship Thursday.
