Ohio Swim and Dive Opens Regular Season at Youngstown State

ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio swimming and diving team will travel to Youngstown State where they will compete in their first regular season meet against the YSU Penguins in the Beeghly Natatorium on Saturday (Oct. 21) beginning at 1 p.m.

The Bobcats head to Youngstown after competing in their annual Green and White intra-squad scrimmage.

SCOUTING YOUNGSTOWN STATE
The Penguins welcome Ohio coming off a 188-98 loss against Akron (Oct. 7). Highlighting YSU's efforts against the Zips were Kolburn Jonsdottir, Viktoria Orosz, Natalie Laurence, and Sydney Gonzalez. Jonsdottir was second in the 100-yard freestyle, Orosz was second in the 500 free, Laurence placed second in the 200-yard backstroke and Gonzalez finished second in the 400-yard IM.

The two YSU divers, Bethany Glick and McKenzie Stelter, alternated second-place finishes in the one-meter and three-meter diving events.

LAST TIME AGAINST THE PENGUINS
The Bobcats opened the 2016-17 season with a 158-79 victory over the Penguins (Oct. 22, 2016) in the Ohio University Aquatic Center. The meet concluded with Ohio winning 12 first-place finishes.
