Columbus, Ohio – Two members of Ohio's swimming and diving team wrapped up the second day of the 2017 USA Winter National Championship in Ohio State's McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion on Thursday. Samantha Glass competed in the 200 medley and Corrin Van Lanen in the 50 freestyle.
In the morning preliminary rounds of the 200-yard medley, freshman Samantha Glass (Villa Hills, Ky.) placed 15th overall with a time of 2:02.23 qualifying for the 'B' heat of the finals.
Later in the evening, Glass placed eighth in the second heat with a final time of 2:03.78.
Junior Corrin Van Lanen (Green Bay, Wis.) tied for 17th in the preliminary rounds of the 50-yard freestyle after swimming a 22.74. She then went on to swim in the 50 free swim-off where she finished second of four with a time of 22.71.
Concluding the evening, Van Lanen placed fifth in the third heat with a final time of 23.03.
Day three of the 2017 Winter National Championships will kick off with the preliminary rounds starting at 9 a.m. and the finals to follow at 6 p.m. Be sure to follow the action with live results posted here.
