Columbus, Ohio – All four members of Ohio's swimming and diving team wrapped up the third day of the 2017 USA Winter National Championship in Ohio State's McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion on Friday (Dec. 1). Samantha Glass competed in the 400 IM, Corrin Van Lanen in the 100 fly, Emily Zimcosky in the 200 free, and Emilia Lahtinen in the 100 breaststroke.
In the morning preliminary rounds of the 400-yard individual medley, freshman Samantha Glass (Villa Hills, Ky.) placed 14th overall with a time of 4:21.91 qualifying for the 'B' heat of the finals.
Later in the evening, Glass placed fourth in the second heat by shaving just over three seconds off her preliminary time to clock in a final time of 4:18.78.
Junior Corrin Van Lanen (Green Bay, Wis.) tied for 10th in the preliminary rounds of the 100-yard butterfly after swimming a 53.94.
Van Lanen went on to place fifth in the second heat with a final time of 54.53.
In the 200-yard freestyle, sophomore Emily Zimcosky (Smock, Pa.) swam a 1:47.95 to place 12th to qualify for the 'B' heat of the finals.
In the final round, Zimcosky placed eighth with a time of 1:48.18.
Junior Emilia Lahtinen (Ylojarvi, Finland) swam in the 100-yard breaststroke and placed in the top-40 with a preliminary time of 1:03.76.
Day four of the 2017 Winter National Championships will kick off with the preliminary rounds starting at 9 a.m. and the finals to follow at 6 p.m. Be sure to follow the action with live results posted here.
