OXFORD, Ohio -- The No. 4-seeded Ohio volleyball team (17-15, 10-6 MAC) dropped a 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-23) decision to No. 1-seeded Miami (22-8, 13-3 MAC) in the 2017 Mid-American Conference Championship Semifinal on Saturday (Nov. 18) at Millett Hall.

The Bobcats saw their 2017 season end with the loss. Ohio posted a winning record for the 16th year in a row and advanced to the league tournament semis for a 16th-straight year.

"We just had a hard time scoring our own points," said fourth-year head coach Deane Webb. "Miami is a good team. We defended them pretty well overall. They didn't hit for a high percentage. It was more that we had a hard time scoring our own points. We did a pretty good job serving and blocking. Offensively, we needed more production."

Freshman middle blocker Tia Jimerson (Sugar Hill, Ga.) led Ohio with a match-high 10 kills, hitting at a .304 pace. She also added a match-high six total blocks (three solo, three assisted) and dig. Junior setter/outside hitter Stephanie Olman (Maumee, Ohio) finished with eight kills, three assisted blocks and five digs. The 2017 MAC Setter of the Year also had a service ace and two assisted blocks. Freshman libero Macy Reihing (Lexington, Ky.) also totaled double-digit digs with 12 in addition to compiling two assists.

Miami was led by a nine-kill effort by senior outside hitter Olivia Rusek, who also tallied 12 digs and two assists. Junior outside hitter/right side hitter Stela Kukoc hit .412 with eight kills and also had two assisted blocks. Senior outside hitter/right side hitter Katie Tomasic posted eight kills, two assisted blocks and five digs. Sophomore defensive specialist/outside hitter Taylor Daignault finished with seven kills, four total blocks (two solo, two assisted), two assists and a match-high 18 digs.
