The Buckeyes quickly regained command, though, reeling off six-straight points during a stretch that saw Ohio commit three errors and Ohio State receive kills from freshman outside hitter Adria Powell and sophomore middle blocker Laura Witte and a service ace from freshman opposite hitter Vanja Bukilić. A kill by redshirt senior outside hitter Jaime Kosiorek (Chagrin Falls, Ohio) cut Ohio's deficit down to three at 10-7, but Ohio State scored the next four points to take a seven-point lead. The Buckeyes maintained at least a five-point lead and went up 23-17 on a service ace by junior defensive specialist Camry Halm. Ohio stayed alive with a late 5-1 run, however. That's as close as Ohio State let Ohio get, though, as a kill by Bukilić ended the set and put the Buckeyes up 2-0 in the match.
