BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- The Ohio volleyball team (8-11, 3-3 MAC) suffered a 3-0 (29-27, 25-22, 25-9) sweep at the hands of Mid-American Conference East Division rival Bowling Green (11-8, 5-1 MAC) this evening at the Stroh Center.
Junior outside hitter Lizzie Stephens (Dallas, Texas) and sophomore middle blocker Tia Jimerson (Sugar Hill, Ga.) tied for the team lead with 10 kills apiece. Redshirt junior middle blocker Simone Miller (Kalamazoo, Mich.) led the match with six assisted blocks. Sophomore setter Vera Giacomazzi (San Vendemiano, Italy) distributed a match-high 35 assists. Sophomore defensive specialist/libero Macy Reihing (Lexington, Ky.) led the team with 18 digs.
Junior middle blocker Celena Kanagin led the Falcons with 13 kills while junior outside hitter/right side hitter Jessi Holly added 10. Sophomore midlde blocker Katie Kidwell led Bowling Green with five assisted blocks. Graduate student defensive specialist Ryann Cox posted a match-high three service aces. Junior setter Isabelle Marciniak led the team with 32 assists. Senior libero/defensive specialist Kallie Seimet compiled a match-high 20 digs while junior defensive specialist Paulina Iacobelli notched 16 and Marciniak added 10 to achieve a double-double.
Ohio closes out its stretch of four-straight road matches next weekend with visits to MAC West Division foes, traveling to Ball State on Friday (Oct. 12) and Toledo on Saturday (Oct. 13).
