Jared Azar was hired as Ohio's director of strength and conditioning in fall of 2018.
Azar, who is a two-time graduate of Ohio, is responsible for all aspects of speed, agility, strength and conditioning for men's basketball, softball and women's soccer. He also assists with the implementation of the football strength and conditioning program.
Prior to his return to Athens, Azar spent two years as a strength and conditioning coach at Ohio State, overseeing women’s swimming and men’s diving, while assisting with both men’s and women’s basketball as well as men’s ice hockey.
Azar served as a graduate assistant at Ohio in 2015-16. In that role, he was responsible for strength and conditioning of women’s swimming and diving, men’s ice hockey, golf and cheer and assisted with the football program.
Azar earned undergraduate (2014) and graduate ('16) degrees in exercise physiology from Ohio. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength & Conditioning Association.
