The Ohio Sports Network from Learfield IMG College is ready to bring Bobcat football and basketball "from Court Street to Columbus, and from WV to Kentucky and beyond." The 12-station network has an over-the-air coverage area that hits three states. In addition, the broadcasts are available online through OhioBobcats.com and Tunein.com/OhioBobcats. They are also free on the TuneIn app.
Programming starts on Monday (Aug. 26) with the debut of Bobcat Sports Today, a Monday through Friday sportscast on Ohio Athletics, and the Frank Solich Show from Donatos in Athens. Eleven shows are scheduled in a new timeslot, 11 a.m.-Noon ET. Fans are welcome to attend or call in to get the thoughts of the 15th-year Ohio head coach.
Russ Eisenstein returns for his 12th season as the "Voice of the Bobcats." Ohio Alum Rob Cornelius has been a part of the broadcasts for two decades. Together, the duo has called some of the greatest moments in Ohio Athletics history.
"When there are so many ways to follow a game and a program, we are honored that fans listen to our broadcasts to stay connected to their team," said Eisenstein. "The way that Rob and I see the game has helped us establish a seamless flow. I think we have formed a bond with Bobcat fans all over the world, and there's a trust factor in what we say and how we say it. We want listeners to have a total 'infotainment' experience."
For several games during the football season, Ohio Alum Lukas Moore will join the broadcasts. Moore is a 2019 graduate who hosts "The Sports Fan" on WATH (970 AM) in Athens and handles play-by-play of local sports in southeast Ohio. Moore also joined Eisenstein for several Ohio Baseball games during the spring.
"Over the years, we've worked with many broadcasting students and recent graduates. That's an important connection to have. Lukas is very talented and will be a great addition to our booth," said Eisenstein.
Rob Longo joins the team this year as the new network studio host. Rob has experience in the Pittsburgh market and has worked with Saint Francis University Athletics.
WXTQ (Power 105) in Athens returns as the network flagship station. Columbus listeners can hear the Cats on WYTS (1230 AM). WAOL (99.5 FM) in Ripley brings the broadcasts into the Cincinnati area. WMOA (1490 AM) and WJAW (630 AM and 100.9 FM) covers Marietta and Parkersburg, WV. WCJO (97.7 FM) in Jackson has been a network staple. The partnership with the WOUB family of stations increases the network reach in Cambridge, Chillicothe, Ironton and Zanesville.
