Cleveland, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced its 2017 Football Academic All-MAC team as a total of 146 students were named to the 2017 Academic All-MAC team including 14 members of the Ohio football team.
Ohio's 14 selections were third-most in the MAC behind Eastern Michigan (18) and Western Michigan (16).
Ohio's Quentin Poling (Gomer, Ohio), Dorian Brown (Pittsburg, Pa.) and Cody Grilliot (Clayton, Ohio) were among just 11 student-athletes that were four-time selections.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
